Mulberry is resurrecting its OG It-bag, The Roxanne

If you’re tapped into the It-bags of the Y2K era, then you’ll definitely remember The Roxanne. Owned by fashion icons of the time, including the likes of Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, and Mary-Kate Olsen, the leather shoulder-bag by Mulberry was a grailed accessory, beloved and revered during its heyday. This Fall, Mulberry’s Roxanne is finally making its comeback, reclaiming its rightful title of It-bag.

The OG Roxanne was a slouchy, buckled leather bag made up of 44 individual pattern pieces which were sewn together by a team of highly skilled artisans. Delivering on both quality craftsmanship and style, the Roxanne encapsulated the slightly slouchy, punky vibe of the 2000s, so it makes sense that – with the era’s revival happening rn – the Roxanne is back.

For 2025, Mulberry has given The Roxanne an update, developing multiple new takes on the original. The Roxanne and the Small Roxanne are close enough to the 2004 OG, both wearable as either shoulder or crossbody bags, with all of the silhouette’s signature features.

However, there are also new shapes arriving in 2025: the Roxanne Shoulder Bag and the Mini Roxanne Shoulder Bag are designed for those of us who prefer a smaller accessory. They’re lighter and more practical (if that’s what you’re into). All of the above are available in a selection of Fall-ready colourways, perfect for the transitional fashion season.
